US federal holidays
Pick 2026 or 2027. The table uses the calendar date. When a holiday falls on a weekend, many offices observe a weekday, and that shift is not applied here.
| Date | Name | Kind |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-01-01 | New Year's Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-01-19 | Martin Luther King Jr. Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-02-16 | Washington's Birthday | Federal holiday |
| 2026-05-25 | Memorial Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-06-19 | Juneteenth | Federal holiday |
| 2026-07-04 | Independence Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-09-07 | Labor Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-10-12 | Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples’ Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-11-11 | Veterans Day | Federal holiday |
| 2026-11-26 | Thanksgiving | Federal holiday |
| 2026-12-25 | Christmas Day | Federal holiday |
How it works
Monday holidays use the usual rules: MLK Day is the third Monday of January, Memorial Day is the last Monday of May, Labor Day is the first Monday of September, Columbus Day is the second Monday of October, Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November.
Juneteenth and Independence Day stay on 19 June and 4 July. The page does not invent a state holiday and does not claim this is your employer’s calendar.
Questions
Why only two years?
The published table is 2026 and 2027 so it can be reviewed as a set. The weekday rules themselves are not limited to those years.
Where is the observed day?
Not in the table. If July 4 is a Saturday, the table still says July 4. Add the observed day in your own notes if you need it.
Is Black Friday a federal holiday?
No. It appears on the countdown page, not in this list.
